Head Injury/Concussions

If your child receives an injury to the head, you should watch for any of the following symptoms:

     -Severe headache

    -Excessive drowsiness

    -Nausea and/or vomiting

-Changes in vision, including double or blurred vision

    -Pupils of different sizes

-Unusual behavior such as confusion, dizziness, irregular breathing

    -Convulsions/seizure

-Bleeding or discharge from the ear

If your child experiences any of these symptoms, call your doctor or go to the emergency room immediately.

If your child has been diagnosed with a concussion, please talk with your child's school nurse, as well as their teacher(s) and counselor. Please bring copies of ALL paperwork you receive from your medical provider to the building nurse. This helps us to manage your child's head injury at school.
