Hello! My name is Carrie Pompeii. I am your child's SPECIAL AREA (Art, PE, Music, Social Emotional, Library) kindergarten teacher at the beautiful new primary building in Byron, MN. This year will mark my 25th year of teaching!
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse with a BS in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I also received my Masters of Teaching and Learning degree from the University of St. Mary's, Winona. I began my teaching career in the Inver Grove school district, where I taught kindergarten. I then moved to Elk River, Minnesota, and taught first grade and third grade for five years. In 1999 my family moved to Byron. I taught third grade for seven years before moving to kindergarten!
I am born and raised a "cheddar head" from Wisconsin! Yes, I am a Packer backer during the Packer/Viking games! Sorry Minnesotans! I grew up in the country and have many great stories to tell my class! I'm sure they'll share them with you! I love to have fun when I teach and look for any chance I can get to act and dance to our latest lesson.
My husband Tom and I have three children named Will, Emma and Sam. They keep me hopping when I am not at school. I enjoy drawing, painting, taking pictures and being active outdoors.
I look forward to working with my new group of students and parents. We are sure to have a wonderful year!
