Homework

My homework policy is one that puts the responsibility on the students. I do not give out "homework," or assign anything that must be done at home. I feel that that students work hard throughout the day, and need the time with their family outside of the school day. I also understand the busy schedules of families with extra-curricular activities. I want students to enjoy those activities, and not have to worry about school work. They also need the time to simply "be a kid!" Students are given enough time during the day to complete any assignments, and should not need to take any work home.

With all of this being said, there may be a time when a student does not use his/her work time efficiently, and doesn't complete an assignment. When this happens, students are expected to take the work home and return it the next day. Students are expected to take home their binder daily, so any online assignments can be accessed using the passwords in their binder. Students will learn how to utilize their binder, so they can be sure that all work is complete.

If your child has excessive work that needs to be completed at home, I will email you so that you can help your child be sure that it gets completed.
