We are currently in our Earth's Features unit. In this unit, we will take on the role of geologists, and investigate how a fossil found in the fictional Desert Rocks National Park formed. Students will make inferences about the history of the park based on the fossil itself and the rock layers in which it is embedded. Investigating how the fossil formed leads students to learn about the formation of sedimentary rock. 

Grades will be based on participation in all activities, completion of assigned pages in Investigation Notebook, and quizzes and assessments.
