Unauthorised materials

You are not allowed to take any unauthorised materials into the examination room.  If you are found to have anything like this during the exam, YOU WILL BE EXCLUDED FROM THE EXAM.  These include:

• • school bag

  • mobile phone

  • a watch of any kind - regular or smart (new rule from Summer 2022)

  • electronics of any kind (including accessories)

  • notes - including any writing on your hands. 

Bags and coats must be left outside the exam. If you have anything valuable that you don't want left in your bag, take it to the Hwb or Reception to keep it safe. The school will not take any responsibility for belongings lost from unattended bags.

If you realise that you have unauthorised equipment (e.g. phone) in your pocket as you walk in to the room, inform an invigilator immediately. Once the exam has started, it will be too late, and we will consider it as an attempt to cheat, even with no intention of using it!

Within the examination room, everyone should remain silent, and the guidelines of the exam board followed. There is a poster of the guidelines outside each examination room, and on the 'JCQ Information' page of this website.
