A Note from Mrs. Loughran:
The 2024-2025 school year marks my 8th year at Yorktown High School and 27th year at Student Assistance Services. I am passionate about guiding our teens to work through the everyday challenges that they face. Students are welcome to come in whether they are just having a bad day or facing more significant difficulties.
The Student Assistance Program is partially funded by the NYS Office of Addiction Services and Support. As such, I have received extensive training in substance use prevention. Although students do not need to be involved in substances to receive my services (and very often aren't), I incorporate conversations around this topic in my interactions with our teens. Students who do use substances will have the space to talk about their use without judgment. I understand that all of us, at times, may have made decisions or behaved in ways that weren't in our best interest. One goal is to help students learn and grow from these experiences.
If you would like to refer your child or need community resources, please call me at (914) 243-8050 ext. 11647. All calls and consultations will remain confidential.
