Yorktown High School Mindfulness Room
Yorktown High School Mindfulness Room
The Mindfulness Room, located in Room 164, is a 'cool down' space for students who need a moment to pause and de-stress throughout the school day.Â
The Mindfulness Room (Rm 164) will be open during periods 2,4,6 & 7 for the 2024-2025 school year.
When the Mindfulness Room is open, it is staffed by a School Counselor, School Social Worker or School Psychologist who checks in with students visiting the space, to assist them in identifying their distress level, and an appropriate coping strategy and or mindfulness activity to help the student regulate their emotions are return to their classes.
Students are always encouraged to stop by the Mindfulness room and take a few minutes, regulate their emotions, return to classes and focus on academics and feeling well while they are in school. Clinicians and Counselors are also available, should the student need to speak to a member of our team.
