Good Morning Everyone! This is Laurel Lees, and I'm starting a writer's block! If you see me in the halls and have a scenario you would like, then let me know!
The Night's Song
I hear the crunching of the leaves as I walk my way back home. The bird flocks chipper to each other as they work their way farther south. In the distance I see my cabin flames burning in the fire outside. My wife sits at the side turning rabbits along a stick. I drop the wood I was burdened with letting it fall beside her. She looks at me; a silent acknowledgement that dinner is done. I walk inside taking our two plates from the counter. Separating the meat between us, we sing a duet line from Hamilton. I let it all sink in as the day ends and the stars come out. I relax back into my chair letting my eyes close the cold wind wafting around us ending the day with utter darkness.
