Are you interested in being involved developing interdisciplinary research projects into the human voice? We’ll be running an online, mini sandpit event to develop new grant ideas and to build new collaborations between researchers to be able to respond to upcoming funding calls. We would love to have representation from a wide range of departments and disciplines, so please join us even if you haven’t been involved in YorVoice before.

The YorVoice Team will be running family-friendly activities at the Festival of Ideas on 30th and 31st May. We're excited to offer a diverse range of experiences, from exploring a 3D virtual reality speaker space to crafting vowel articulators. This workshop will include an introduction to public engagement, and developing activities for the Festival of Ideas.

You're invited to join us in launching the YorVoice Research Lab. Come along for an engaging session where each project team will introduce their work, covering topics including Voice Rights of the Individual, Perception of Atypical Voices, Breathing for Speech App, Self-perception of singing voice, and Vocal authenticity.

Event page - Sandpit Resources
Over the course of the Sandpit attendees had the opportunity to connect and talk with others with an interest in the human voice and explore how you might work together to make a difference in this area. The Sandpit brought together different perspectives and expertise to develop new ideas. The final stage was to pitch a project idea to the YorVoice steering committee, who had funding available to resource projects that support the YorVoice objectives.
