The special interest research group (or "SIRG") for language, communication and mental health set out to document what research questions needed answering on the topic of children and young people's language, communication and mental health. We already know that young people with mental health problems are at a greater risk of language difficulties, and vice versa. We explored what research families, clinicians, researchers and other professionals felt was needed in this area.
