Timelines

The dissertation process starts formally in Semester 2. Sessions will be held with the dissertation team where the process will be outlined and an overview of the areas of research and specific methodologies of each research group in the Department will be provided. 

The timeline for the academic year 2023/24  is:

• February 2024

  • • introduction to dissertation module

    • engagement of students in project proposal development processes
      
      

• February - March 2024

  • • students engage with research groups and potential supervisors

    • development of project proposals
      
      

• 22 March 2024

  • • deadline for project proposal submission using the submission point in the VLE
      
      

• April 2024

  • • allocation of supervisors
      
      

• 26 April 2024

  • • deadline for allocation of supervisors
      
      

• 16 September 2024

  • • deadline for submission*

*Please be aware that if you are staying in on-campus accommodation, your tenancy agreement may have finished prior to the deadline for submission

Submission is on or before the 16th September 2024.  You should aim to have a full draft of your dissertation at least two weeks before this date, but you should discuss this with your supervisors and confirm the date with them to ensure they have sufficient time to provide feedback on your final draft.
