Code.org is a K-12 web-based learning portal that offers comprehensive coverage of all things computer science. It was launched in 2013 as a non-profit with the goal of improving students understanding and engagement in computer science. Since then, it has become a widely adopted coding curriculum for many schools across the globe. Great for students of all ages.
It is fully portal graded, synchronous or asynchronous, and teachers have complete control over what they'd like to assign their students on Code.org, where assignments are split into the following -
Work graded on completion
Tests and assessments that are automatically graded
Projects that are rubric graded
Pros -
Covers all aspects of computer science
Highly guided and streamlined content
Instructors can teach effectively regardless of experience
Many resources available for both teachers and students.
Cons -
Can be repetitive if not paired with supplemental resources
Quick to build on itself and call upon prior lessons, can be problematic with absences
