Of the 18 members who participated in the Round 1 Tournament, 7 went on to advance to the Round 2 Tournament at Bur Oak Secondary School in Markham. They include:

Mary Zhuang & Elisa Li (Tier 1 – Girls Doubles)

Sally Yang & Faith Chiu (Tier 2 – Girls Doubles)

Juliana Jiang (Tier 2 – Girls Singles)

Michael Chan (Tier 2 – Boys Singles)

Kevin Chu (Tier 2 – Boys Singles)

At the Round 2 Tournament on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, the team faced formidable opponents from the host school, Markville Secondary School, Markham District High School, and of course, their cross town rivals from Richmond Hill High School. Needless to say, the team members found the experience to be a real learning opportunity.

The Girls Doubles Team of Mary Zhuang and Elisa Li were STL's top performers as they finished 4th in their Tier 1 bracket. Great work girls - you certainly gave your opponents a "real run for their money".

Congratulations to all team members for yet again another successful badminton season. Way to go LIONS!!
