Our Special Education Teachers are dedicated to promoting student success. We are committed to promoting safety, security and fostering a caring community.
Our role is to monitor the student’s progress with reference to the I.E.P. and modify or make accommodations to the program as necessary and assist in providing educational assessments for exceptional students.

The Educational Assistant is an integral part of the school team. The primary focus of the role of the Educational Assistant is to support the individual program of students with special needs in the classroom and school community. Educational Assistants work in collaboration with the classroom/subject teachers and core resource/special education teachers to implement the student’s plan.

Each school is serviced by a Board resource team that supports the school staff working with students. This multidisciplinary team includes a Special Education Consultant and/or Special Education Department Head, a Speech and Language Pathologist, Physical and Occupational Therapist, Behaviour Resource staff, and Psychologist.
