PHOTOGRAPHY GRADE 11 AWQ3O1 Open- no prerequisites


This course is delivered as a comprehensive program focusing on Photography, and as such it enables students to develop their knowledge and skills in the first level of this art expression. The initial part includes education on the Elements & Principles of Design and image Composition, as well as introduction to Photography and Photography history. Following, students focus on the understanding and use of the SLR camera; acquire the skills of shooting, film development and Darkroom film printing. Students use the creative process to explore a wide range of themes through studio work that would include research, shooting, film development and printing, as well as the manipulation of images through computer software. Students apply the formal and subjective critical analysis process when evaluating their own work and the work of others. An Individual Photography Portfolio is a required component of this course. Photo-educational trip/s are included in the program content.



PHOTOGRAPHY GRADE 12 AWQ4M1 Prerequisites: AWQ3O1

This course focuses on enabling students to refine their use of the creative process when creating and presenting two- and three-dimensional Photography art works using a variety of traditional (Darkroom and Digital) and emerging media and technologies. Students will use the critical analysis process to deconstruct art works and explore connections between art and society. The studio program enables students to explore a range of materials, processes, and techniques that can be applied in their own Photography production while making connections between various works of art in personal, contemporary, historical, and cultural contexts. An Individual Photography Portfolio is a required component of this course. Photo-educational trip/s are included in the content.
