The Quiet Path Forward
I took this photo at the back part of the field behind my house. I was on a hike with my dad when I saw the lonely little trail in the shadows. I used to hike this trail in the spring with my sister and brother in 2020. The isolation of this trail and seeing how few people have walked that way reminded me of how the world shut down in 2020. The small trail along the power lines leads into the rest of the photo. This reminded me of how life keeps moving forward and how COVID-19 seems so far away now.

Edge of the White Quiet
I took this photo on a hike with my dad. I saw the fence and noticed the contrast between the wire, metal, and snow. Not only that, but I also noticed how gray and dead the world looks. Winter is not my favorite season because of how cold it is. So I thought this photo captured how barren the world looks during winter. The fence leads into the rest of the photo towards the darkness of the woods.

Sunspell on Snow
I was walking with my dad in the woods when I took this photo. I saw this small shadow on the trail. The shadow was isolated, but it cut through the light filtering through the trees so nicely. I thought that this photo nicely captured how easily darkness can cut through light. It reminded me of the internet in a way. How the internet has a lot of negative impact on society, but it also can have a positive impact on us. The dark sides of it overshadow the positive sides, though. This paints a negative portrayal of technology in our minds. This line of shadow from this one small tree reminded me of that.
