This is a cyanotype. Also known as blueprinting, Cyanotpyes are a photographic process that produces a blue and white print by placing objects on light sensitive paper and putting them out in the sun. This produces positive and negative spaces which can be either depending on your interpretation of which is which, but the edge that they both share is how you know where each is. I took a bunch of different leaves and ferns and placed them on the paper and I think it turned out really cool. It also left a splatter in some of the white which I wasn't trying to do but I think it still looks really cool even though it was unintentional.
