Name Design

Purpose:

• To review the Fundamentals of Design

• To examine how the Fundamentals of Design pertains to “Graphic Design”;

• To use creative problem-solving skills to create a unique, original “Name” Design.

I learned more about how to use the fundamentals of graphic design during my work on this piece. Specifically, it was one of the first times I had experimented with texture in a formal piece, with the cracks/breaking off of the letter “V”. I put a lot of time into the planning portion of that letter, and I am satisfied with how it turned out. I also used form in this piece, making the letters 3d. This added an extra level of complexity to my work, especially when paired with the textured letter. Overall, I would say my implementation of these two elements added different level to the artwork that would have been lacking if I didn't use them.
