First Thoughts/Goals for Semester

I choose to take this class because I hoped to learn more about designing logos and other things. I want to improve my drawing skills too. Being able to draw is a great skill to have and I hope that I can become a good artist by the end of the semester. I also believe that learning how to use photoshop will be a very valuable skill to have. Being good at photoshop could help me in anything that I do. I find graphic design very interesting because it’s very unique but you see it all around. Every logo made was graphic design. I find it fascinating that there are so many logo but most people barely know how they were created.

Revisiting my goals for the Semester:

My goals for the semester were to improve my drawing ability and learn how to use photoshop. I believe that I met both these goals. I believe my drawing skills increased very quickly at the beginning of the semester. Starting each project with a sketch really help me improve my drawing. Drawing is the backbone of every art project. Everything starts out as a drawing. Learning photoshop was one of the most important things I learned this semester. Photoshop is an extremely valuable skill to have. I believe over the course of the semester that learning photoshop was really easy. We took simple steps and improve our knowledge as we went. I think it was really fun and we improve all together as a class.

The work I'm the most proud of:

The work I'm the most proud of is my morphing project. I made my artwork look convincing by first changing the colors of the animals. I blended with the clone stamp tool so I could take specific parts of each animal. This blending process allowed me to make the animal as realistic as possible. I think this was some of my best work. Not only is this the piece I'm most proud of it's also the one I had the most fun doing. When doing this project it was a really different feel than the other as instead of creating something new we were putting two already existing things together. This was very different than the other projects we were doing.
