What are the necessary skills to create a convincing still life drawing?
To create a still-life drawing that demonstrates understanding of angles & ellipses in perspective, along with using a chosen and conscious mark-making technique to describe form;
To understand value by creating a good range of values between black & white to help make the objects appear 3D;
To demonstrate quality craftsmanship and good composition skills in a drawing.
Giorgio Morandi
Reflection:
#1, I used hatching as my technique for this project. We learned this technique from Giorgio Morandi. When creating value changes I pressed lighter on my pen so I would get less color.
#2, I learned how to do hatching much better. I also learned how to change values to make things more realistic. Throughout the unit, I think I learned a lot about how to blend values to make them more realistic.
#3, The skills that are necessary for this project are shading, Value changes, Perspective, and The technique you use. These are very important when trying to make your project as realistic as possible.
