Purpose:
To learn how Levitation is being used in the world of photography;
To make connections from levitation to real-world uses;
To create levitation photographs inspired by other amateur and professional photographers.
My dog was a very good subject for this, I had her sit on a stool so that I could get her high enough to make her look like she's floating. I tried to add some of her toys falling around her but they kept blurred so I decided against using the toys. I also messed with where the shadow was, I put it further back, closer to her, under her, but nothing felt right. It took my mom noticing I have the chair's shadows there to use as a guide. Once I used that the shadow looked a bit more natural. I couldn't warp it to make it look natural on the wall.
The drawer I'm reaching towards has our baking pans and sheets, I can't reach the cupboard without using a chair. So I made it look like I was floating to the cupboard to grab the baking pans. Then I added my shadow in to complete the image. I liked this setup because I was able to make it happen slightly easily, it was a little scary being up that high with barely any balance though. I tried this one a few different ways before settling on this one because it looked the best in my eyes.
