I create art so I can express my mind onto paper. Another reason For me creating art is its meditative properties, and patently creating art strengthens my mind and focus.
I hope to be able to make my drawings and paintings clear and good, so I can properly showcase my inner thoughts. Another reason is so I can take photography because that is one of my passions.
Still Life
I am most proud of my still life drawing, because I love how the shading looks and the shapes of the objects. While creating this during the phase prior to shading I was not that happy with it, but saw it as ok. Once the shading began I began to really love how it looked. It came together fully when I was able to notice the contrast between the shadows and light space. The shading practice we did before the final piece left me feeling like my shading was nothing to be proud of, but once I finished I was very surprised and proud. Now that I can see the final result and i'm proud, I can use this experience with new challenges to understand that just because something does not look great at the beginning does not mean it can't look great at the end of the process.
The 2 most impactful things we did was the Color wheel assignment and the Still life drawing.
This is because the color wheel lets me see how many colors can originate from just 3. Another thing I learned from it was the color families Cold, Warm, Etc. The still life drawing taught me how to shadow and the many different types of shadowing. Now I have a greater understanding of shadowing and I have gained a stronger appreciation for art. Both these assignments taught me that art is not just the final result but the time and process it took to create it, in turn making art more valuable to me.
