The Young Activists'

Awareness campaign

All made sense and had a real and motivating purpose:

To create a final awareness campaign in English together!

Children from both countries learnt that the main fina objective of this project and adventure together was to create a diverse awareness campaign. Organized in small groups, and with students from both countries working together, they had to decide how they would like to spread the world and raise awareness of how important is water and provide ideas of their own and also using the support of AI to be able to take a better care of this limited and essential resource.

The final output were very diverse, from writing a song and creating a musical video, creating an infographic, digital presentation, handmade poster, digital comic, handmade comic, to even some theatre plays! Young activists demonstrated that they know what they do and besides that they can do it through English and in a very fun and creative way!

All these amazing ideas that they had and made it real were shared with both of our educational community, families, friends, teachers, city hall members... on the 19th of June 2024. It was our big final day and event to celebrate learning but much more than that! to show the World that with motivation and working together young children can do amazing things for a better future. And we managed to do so together, as all this terrific adventure, we did a videoconference during all the event so both continents were connected!

One of the young activist groups decided to spread the word and their ideas on how to save water creating a video in which they wanted to play it in front of their families on the big final day. They had a brilliand idea and they decided all by themselves. They wanted all the members to feel confident and relaxed that day and since some of the group has some syndrome, they asked the teacher to have it recorded so they will make sure they will make a brilliand performance. This group thought to create a presentation but not just with some advice and ideas on how to save water but also they wanted to ask families some questions to see how much they know and also share some interesting and curious information related to the topic.

All good things come to an end... but our adventure had a very sweet end...

Everybody enjoyed a sweet breakfast together in which families, friends, city hall members, teachers and students could recover some energy after 2h and 30 minutes of presentations and they could talk and comment what they thought of the project and what they've learnt.

Moreover, the Oakbridge Foundation created a wonderful theatre play and recorded in order to be shared with their new Spanish friends and the rest of the World. From Abuja with lots of love. Below you can watch their great performance:

Water drops to write some wishes...

Sant Jordi school created two huge bucket poster in which all the educational community that come to the final dissemination day of the Young Activist campaig could wrote in some blue drops their wishes, feedback and overall comments.

Students from Nigeria used AI to create song lyrics based on a popular tune. However, they had to adjust the AI-generated lyrics to better match the rhythm of the soundtrack, as it wasn't perfectly aligned.

We must share with you that there were many people who got emmotional and even cried at this point. What a unique and special way to end the adventure together!

Mowo, one of the Nigerian teachers is going to leave Africa for the very first time in her live to visit Sant Jordi school in Mollet del Vallès at the end of September 2024.

She will have a great opportunity to do a week of job shadowing together with Maria Mont, the English teacher in Sant Jordi school. They will exchange presentations about their educational systems and even go to the University Autònoma de Barcelona to present their project to future English teachers and try to inspire them.

Besides, Mowo will lead some workshops with the students involved in the project that now they are the new 5th graders from the Spanish school.
