The Young activists' adventure is on TV! June 2024
Sant Jordi school and Oakbridge Foundation were on the TV News of the local TV in Mollet del Vallès. The reporters came to school on the day of the final awareness campaign, interview teachers and students and stayed to enjoy and learn everything children together from 2 different continents had to say as real and expert young activists!
Presentation of the project in the 25th Annual CiCea international conference 2024 in the University of Malmo, Sweeden.
We are absolutely thrilled to have this one-of-a-kind opportunity and are deeply grateful to UAB and especially to GREIP for funding Miss Angela's first-ever trip outside Africa. This journey promises to be a remarkable personal and professional experience.
The students of Sant Jordi School are eagerly preparing to welcome her with great excitement. They've planned many surprises to show her their water-saving efforts and life-saving initiatives, while also sharing much about their traditions and culture.
We will share more photos and videos about her stay as as soon as we have them ready!
Miss Angela visits Spain and travels outside Africa for her first time!
From 22nd until the 28th September, Miss Angela had the chance to visit Spain and Sant Jordi School had the honor of hosting the Nigerian teacher Miss Angela for three days filled with special activities. She gave a presentation on Nigeria's education system and shared her Oakbridge Foundation. She also led African dance workshops, while the school introduced her to traditional Catalan games. The 5th graders shared a presentation on Catalan traditions like giants, la castanyera or even el "tió."
A sincere and special THANK YOU to the GREIP Research Group, and specially Melinda Dooly for bringing Miss Angela’s travel adventure to life and turning her dream into an unforgettable journey.

We were honored to have members of the City Hall of Mollet del Vallès show great interest in the proposals put forward by our young activists during the three-month project focused on improving the local water situation. Their dedication to addressing water challenges was evident when they visited our school last year to be interviewed and share insights on the city's ongoing efforts.
In this inspiring exchange, the city representatives not only highlighted the initiatives Mollet is undertaking to enhance water sustainability but also listened to our students' innovative ideas on how to further improve the situation. It was a valuable experience for everyone involved, fostering meaningful dialogue and motivation.
We are truly grateful for their continued support and willingness to visit our school, recognizing the hard work and passion of our young activists. A heartfelt THANK YOU to the City Hall for their collaboration and encouragement!
The Young Activists adventure said thank you to Sant Jordi school after the visit of their teacher:

The 2024 TSLL conference will respond to this new world of language and learning with the theme Researching the Language and Use of Generative AI. Research on the language generated by AI is critically important because all uses of generative AI for language learning and assessment rely on the quality of the language produced by the AI for particular purposes. The uses of generative AI include the learners’ and teachers’ direct access to AI as a source of language data for teaching and learning. Generative AI is also used by developers of learning materials and assessments in addition to language teachers and assessment specialists.

We hope you enjoyed discovering about our Young Activists' adventure as much as we did designing it and implementing it. We are so satisfied if what children were capable of doing and we would really like to thank them for their engagement, work and colllaboration. They did an amazing job in fighting to have a better World while connecting with children from very different realities, cultures and traditions from as far as a different continent.
This adventure has come to an end but it really motivates us to continue working like this!
