Both gamification or game-based learning must be used to motivate students and give control of their learning. To achieve this aim, it is essential that games are integrated into the curriculum.
How to apply game-based learning to the English class:
1) An objective must be defined.
2) Choose a narrative and think of a final challenge.
3) Change the competencies and knowledge into games. Use reading or listening activities in the activities; or prepare grammar or vocabulary exercises that they have to solve in order to get a badge, a reward or a clue for the next activity.
4) Establish the rules for the game.
