Nature Reading Morning
We go with the students of 10 and 13 years old to Madonna di Petraquaria, which is located in the Abruzzo mountains. We go by bus there in order to carry out a literary activity called the Story Box. The 13 year-old students have been preparing a reading which they are going to read aloud to the 10 year-old students. Each one of them has put an image or object that is related to their reading. A student passes by with the box saying: "Pesco stories, pesco stories, pesco stories!" and one of the children takes an object out of the box. The student who has the related reading goes on to read his or her story aloud. It is evident that there has been previous work to choose the reading and prepare it.
The place is very appropriate, as there is a small tier in the middle of the woods, but it's a pity that it is very windy and quite cold!
We tell them the story of the 3 little pigs in Catalan, dramatizing it a little and they guess it.
It has been a very interesting literacy day!
