THE BIG CHALLENGE
OBJECTIVE:
To apply knowledge acquired during the project.
DESCRIPTION:
Students design a scientific poster. It must include the most relevant characteristics of a living thing and explain how it can help save the environment. Then, students take part in a poster session during a scientific congress. They must be able to answer questions on their poster and enquire about other groups’ posters.
CHALLENGES:
- Reflect on the environmental challenges facing the planet and create a living thing that can help save the Earth. Justify.
- Present the creature to an audience, being able to answer questions about it.
CREATIONS:
- A scientific poster of a living thing which can help save the planet.
- Presentation of the poster to the 'scientific' community.
ASSESSMENT:
Students assess each others’ work during the presentations with the help of a rubric. Other assistants to the presentations (teachers, school community members) also assess with help of rubric.
