CHALLENGE 1: How might we end up?

OBJECTIVE: To be aware about the future of our planet if we don't stop the degradation of our environment.

DESCRIPTION: With these activities each scientists' team should understand the impact of greenhouse gases (carbone dioxide, ozone,..) and microplastics over the environment. They should also debate and propose mesures to stop the progressive degradation of the environment.

CHALLENGES:

    • Identify human factors that contribute to the pollution of our planet and affect the climate.
    • Reflect on the future of our planet.

CREATIONS:

    • Build a graph about the evolution of CO2 levels.
    • Write a prediction of what will happen to the planet if we do nothing.

SESSIONS: 4 (1: Climate change; 2: CO2 curve; 3: plastics pollution; 4: make a prediction). See detail of all activities in attached website, page 1: How might we end up?

    • Inputs: quizlets, videos, questionnaires, pieces of news & tutorials.
    • Other resources: padlets, spreadsheet model, online units conversor, sentence structures sheet, diversity care guidelines, writing checklist, predictions scaffolding, 1st conditional activities (online).
    • Class management: Whole group, small groups of 3 students, pairs and individually.
