OUR CONTEXT

Pla Marcell is a high school located in Cardedeu (Vallès Oriental, Barcelona). It is a "young" school, set up un 2006. It offers ESO and IFE in the morning, and TAP and TEI in the evenings. It makes it an energic vivid school.

From its very beginning, the team of teachers has been involved in developing a program based in merging the newest technologies with human essence. Thus, the learning tools are not books, but PBL materials created by the teachers in close collaboration.

The achievement of foreign languages has always been an important goal. The common foreign language to all students is English, that German is offered as an optional 2nd foreign language from 2nd to 4th of ESO. English is boosted through many different activities, for example the celebration of the English Day since 2017-2018, but the most outstanding one is an exciting trip to London set in 2nd of ESO, offered to all students as the culmination of an almost full-term project.

The participation in the GEP project is a challenging response to the aim to get students involved in the learning of English as a tool, not only as a target itself. Over the last years, some lessons have already been taught in English, but GEP has been embraced as a great chance to implement plurilingualism in a better structured way.
