Excursion to Can Pi de la Serra

The first thing we have to do is to check that we wear a suitable pair of trainers, comfortable clothes and a cap if it is sunny. We also have to include a healthy sandwich or a pìece of fruit in our bagpack, and of course a bottle of water.

We leave the school in the morning and just at the door we turn to the right, we go straight by the sidewalk until the roundabout. Then we face two paths, take the one on the left which is soil and there is not pavement. The house that is just over the path is a farm where the sheep that you can find in your way belong to.

During the excursion you can find different trees and flowers, there are quite a lot of pine trees and also some almond trees, rosemary, thyme and broom.

There is also a sign that shows you the way to Can Pi de la Serra, this sign is from a Local Excursion Center and the Town Hall. The other path leads you among fields to another city: Castellbisbal

Going on straight we arrive to a gate where a board indicates that you have arrived to the country house land, we open the gate and in our way to the house we can see horses and cereal fields, at this moment it begins to rain a little and when we arrive two dogs scare us.

The Country House is amazing, really big and old, there is a sign in front of it explaining its history that begins around the 12th century.

They have several farm animals: goats, pigs, donkeys, chickens and hens....they also have several fields were they grow cereals , calçots and other vegetables.

The excursion lasts 1 hour more or less, we have our Sandwich and decide to return to our Secondary School, we can’t skip next class!!
