The meeting was held in Palermo at ICS Michelangelo Buonarroti premises. As this was the first meeting involving students, participants shared short presentations of themselves, their schools and their city prepared beforehand and already posted on etwinning. The hosting school organized a welcoming performance as an introduction to local culture. There were also ice breaking and group activities to promote teamwork and communication.
The key area of this meeting was “Health Emergency”. There were different kind of learning activities that lead students to create a sort of guideline to read and interpret correctly the information on the web. Students, divided in international groups, were involved in various catching activities:
STEP 0 - before the meeting, a large number of students of each school answered a survey about healthy.
STEP 1 - choice of the topics to work on - ie infectious diseases (like covid19 epidemic) or food habits.
STEP 2 - methodology on how to look for reliable information and how to interpret the results of the survey.
STEP 3 - OPERATIVE PHASE - students, working in groups, interpreted the results and looked for news related to specific heath topics.
STEP 4 - with the same international groups, students wrote a newspaper article about their healthy topic, relating the results with the searched information and making conclusions.
STEP 5 - each group shared and read their article with the rest of students.

Students presented their school and city with the help of powerpoint presentations and videos.
Activity: Survey about Health Topics
Students conducted a survey about health topics in their host schools before the meeting in Palerm.
The survey included questions about health habits and about their opinion about health topics.
In Palerm, students analized the results of the survey and compared them with the different participating countries.
Activity: Conference of a local newspaper journalist
Mr. Giovanni Villino explained how local newspaper articles are written and how to verify the information to make sure there is truth in what we write.
Activity: False and authentic in art
Visit to the Art Gallery of Mr. Francesco Pantaleone in the centre of Palerm.
We talked about modern art and about authenticity in the modern world.
