Day Five

Team work

The next day, Hayssam and Hanne arranged a meeting with Anne Mette, the director of the Sønderborg public library. We felt like talking to her because we wanted to know more about how the library works and how it coordinates with the school libraries.

As soon as we walked into the library, we were surprised by its beautiful entrance. The library is a spacious, friendly, pleasant and peaceful space. It is a space that invites you to stay there for a while and observe it carefully.

The children's area left us open-mouthed! What beautiful furniture! A well-kept and new space. The combination of white and wood, showcases with LED lights and a huge tiered-seating area with a speaker on each side. It is an amazing space for children. Images of the solar system were projected on one of the walls.

The coordinator told us that schools can use the exhibition hall for presentations of their pupils' work. The library supplies schools with teaching materials and resources for their projects. The library also offers various activities for children and their families.

Below are some photos of the library.

There is a room with only German books. This space has the same style as the rest of the library. The library was a former fisherman's house. The wooden structures of the interior have been preserved.
