7.4. Disability Discrimination

Virtual Meeting with Vilnius (Lithuania), December 2020

Initially planned from 11th to 17th May 2020, the Coronavirus pandemic didn't allow us a trip to Vilnius, However, the Lithuanian Team organized a virtual meeting from 14th to 18th December 2020, a rewarding experience with collaborative activities according to the project objectives. Here you have a summary of the week.

Each day, we started with a Zoom meeting where the teams shared ideas or participated in quizzes or surveys, learned about concepts related to disabilities or artistic productions, and received instructions for the tasks. Then, each team had to perform the assigned tasks of the day during the morning.

Doodling activity: collage of doodles

We watched tutorials about Doodling, and Lithuanian Team also explained how to do the task with a presentation. Thus, we created a Doodle with words, with our name and two adjectives that defined our feelings dealing with disabled persons. We shared our Doodles in a common Padlet

Wednesday Activities

International rap Song against Discrimination

Teachers and students from Vilnius had prepared the tutorial, the soundtrack, the chorus lyrics and the signs language interpretation for the chorus of the song.

After receiving all instructions from Vilnius, all teams worked to add their rap and chorus to the common song, which was further edited by the Lithuanian Team. It was an awesome experience and everybody enjoyed performing it!

Moreover, in Torrefarrera we were lucky to have the participation of one deaf student of our school, Sara, in the signs language song.

On Friday we watched the final result!! You can also watch it in the Friday section!

Ceramics Workshop: creating a butterfly.

The butterfly is the symbol of the Zero Discimination Day. In this sense, international students should create a ceramics fridge magnet with a butterfly shape, according to the instructions and models shown by the Lithuanian Team. On Monday we had started the process and on Thursday we had to paint the butterflies. Previously, we shared some ideas about the meaning of different colours.
