4.9. International Day of Tolerance
ACTIVITY FOR TOLERANCE IN INSTITUT JOAN SOLÀ
Last 15th of November, our 3rd year students were paired with our 1st year students to develop an activity related to the International Day of Tolerance. They thought about tolerance and integration, by means of joint activities. Older students will also represent a support and a reference for integration for the younger ones during the year. This is an action that also aims to prevent intolerance situations like bullying, by means of preventing students' isolation.
ACTIVITY FOR TOLERANCE IN I.C.3 "DON BOSCO-D'ASSISI" TORRE DEL GRECO (ITALY)
As part of the Erasmus Plus project, DiscriminACTion for a better IntegrARTion, and to celebrate the International Day for Tolerance, a competition was launched within our school. The initiative aimed at spreading knowledge of the UN Convention on children’s and adolescents’ rights and at promoting a culture of respect and tolerance. Students have expressed their thoughts and emotions through: a poetic text, a story, a letter; a drawing, a cartoon, a poster, a collage or a video.
During a meeting with the students involved in the competition, the Headmistress, Mrs. Rosanna Ammirati, talked them about the need for tolerance in society and helped them understand the negative effects of intolerance. During the meeting all works: drawings, spot, video were being shown through the IMB. At the end, the students, whose works were ranked in the first three places, were rewarded with a Participation Diploma and a Pen Drive.
