1. Project Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This Erasmus+ Project "DiscriminACTION for a better IntegrARTion" which involves four schools: INSTITUTE SAINTE MARIE-France; INSTITUT JOAN SOLA -Spain; VILNIAUS MARTYNA MAZVYDO PROGYMNAZIA- Lithuania; ISTITUTO COMPRENSIVO STATALE IC3 DON BOSCO-D'ASSISI - Italy aims at teaching students respect towards everybody in the school, acceptance of others with all their differences and openness to the outside world.

We believe that Arts (drama, visual, music) are the best way to deal with discriminations and make our students aware of what being "different" means because Art is creativity and it allows freedom. Art will be used in that project in the way each school will judge suitable to their needs or abilities: drama, drawing, photo, video, storytelling, music, crafts, sculptures or others.

The students of all countries involved will also experiment cooperation through the common work in international teams during the E-twinning chats or during the stays abroad.

Each school will deal with a different kind of discrimination: The Institution Sainte Marie, the coordinator of the project, will deal with the issue of discrimination towards the less-privileged. Vilnius Martynas Mažvydas Progymnasium school will focus on discrimination due to disabilities. The Institut Joan Sola in Spain will focus on sexism and discriminations between men and women. The Istituto Comprensivo Statale IC3 Don Bosco d'Assisi in Italy will deal with bullying and anti-bullying policy.

OBJECTIVES

The objectives we want to achieve can be seen on different levels

RESPECT AND COOPERATION

We want the students to understand that the other, either their classmate or the foreign partner is worth knowing and that everybody deserves respect. This is a value much needed in Europe's future. Thus, interpersonal and intercultural skills will be enhanced.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE

All the people participating in the project will improve their practice of English because they will need it for exchange and cooperation. Furthermore, they will also learn some words in mother language spoken by partners.

CREATIVITY

The students will get involved in a creative and artistic work. This piece of work will be a photo, a video, a poster, a poem, a song, a small piece of drama... Their imagination will produce new ideas about important topics.

SPECIFIC RESULTS

The results will vary in forms: photos, drawings or posters, songs or music, theatre scenes, sculptures, videos,.... Each production will be shared.

ACTIVITIES

LTTs

There will be 4 mobilities (LTT: learning, teaching training activities), one taking place in each country with 18 foreign students and 7 foreign teachers. The students will be hosted by families so they can best apprehend their partner's way of life and culture. English will be the main language of communication and work. Each mother tongue will be favored, in the families of course but the students will also be encouraged to learn some expressions in the other languages during the art workshops or during the periods devoted to the discovery of the hosting country.

CHARITIES, ASSOCIATIONS, INTERNATIONAL DAYS

Each partner school will get in touch with local charities or organizations dealing with discrimination and will prepare joint activities (collect of goods in the schools, presentation at the school). These associations can deal with helping the homeless, dealing with special needed people, fighting against sexism, ageism, bullying, cyberbullying.

COMMUNICATION-DISSEMINATION

Local authorities (town council, regional council, educational department) will be informed of the project.

All our ACTions will be shown to our communities.

Students will use the Twinspace to get in touch with each other, exchange information, prepare their work, chat together during the project and share the results and outcomes of their stay.
