At XP & XP East School we focus on practical, performance based activities - teaching Music through sound first.
We aim to develop key skills and a fundamental understanding of playing various instruments.
Initially that begins with the following instruments: Piano / Keyboard, Guitar, Ukulele, Percussion & Drums.
Blues in C is great for Piano and Ukulele. Blues in E is great for Guitar.
LT1: I can sustain my part on ukulele as part of a group.
LT2: I can perform a Reggae song with understanding of a clear message.
LT3: I can express my personal views through the media of song.
Learning Targets:
LT1 - I can identify traditional instruments through listening to their sounds.
LT2 - I can positively and musically contribute to a live, group, musical performance.
LT3 - I can contribute to the production of an atmospheric and emotive soundscape of our environment.
Learning Targets:
LT1 - I can perform a suitable song linked to WWI.
LT2 - I can play at least 3 chords on a ukulele or guitar.
LT3 - I can explain about 2 different styles of music from the WWI era.
Learning Targets:
LT1 - I can sustain an individual rhythm as part of a group.
LT2 - I can identify the instruments of a brass band.
LT3 - I can perform as part of a group to an audience.
