Mrs. Pearson's Classroom Overview

Welcome to 5th Grade and Xavier Middle School. I am so thankful to be able to have your student in my class this year. I know we are going to make some amazing memories! I am a second year teacher and this is my first year teaching 5th grade at Xavier elementary School. My previous experience has been focused in Early Childhood where I worked for 5 years with various ages helping children to grow and learn about the world around them. Here are a few goals that I hope to achieve by the end of the year.

1- I hope to help your child grow their confidence. My goal as a teacher is to create an environment where each child feels like they can share their ideas without judgement. Every child has something to offer and I work to ensure they feel safe and comfortable within the class to present their unique gifts.

2- I want your child to develop a love for learning. I believe that learning is an important part of life. I hope to develop children who are curious about the world around them and are eager to seek information out for themselves.

3- I want your child to feel they are safe, respected, and valued. School is a place where students spend so much of their time, so I truly value creating an environment that they feel loved and welcomed in. It is my hope that students grow to enjoy being at school.

I highly encourage parent involvement in student learning. Each day students should bring home their agenda, this is checked daily for a signature, as well as if there is anything that parents need to share with me. Additionally, throughout the year there will be different field trips and volunteer opportunities, it would be so much to me and your child if you joined us! Above all I know this is going to be an amazing year and I look forward to watching your child grow.
