Instrument information

Choosing the right instrument is a critical part of a great start to band. The instruments available to start on at Xavier are:

Flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, oboe, trumpet, trombone, baritone horn*, french horn*, tuba*, and percussion. Below you will see a link from Heid Music that gives a preview of each instrument.

*these instruments are school owned-available for student use

The area music vendor that services our area is Heid Music of Appleton.

Parents are welcome to get an instrument where they like-but please be extremely wary of Amazon and Ebay instruments as these are very unpredictable. Please wait until after our fall band fitting to get an instrument, as the tunaround time is very quick.

Heid Music also carries the method book used (Standard of Excellence-Book 1) and care kits for each instrument!
