Section iV Scholarships - Students Do not Apply

Recipients of Scholarships listed in Section IV will be chosen by individual organizations.  

Students do not apply for these awards.   

CLASS OF 1965 & WINK JUNG MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP 

The class of 1965 exemplified good citizenship, school spirit, and work ethic.  The recipient of this $1,000 scholarship need not be at the top academically but must demonstrate the aforementioned qualities.  This scholarship will be based on the yearly interest generated from the scholarship fund.  The Faculty Scholarship Committee will select a graduating senior who will be continuing his/her education at a four-year college or a one/two-year technical school.  Payment will be made upon proof of satisfactory completion of the fall semester of work.  If the scholarship is not claimed during the academic year in which it is to be awarded, except for unforeseen circumstances, the recipient will forfeit the award.  Students do not apply for this award. 

JAMES & ZOE CONNOR SCHOLARSHIP 

James Connor was chancellor at UW-Whitewater for many years.  He and his wife have endowed an $8,000 scholarship ($2,000 equally divided between Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters/renewable for three additional years if GPA continues to be 3.0 or greater ) for a graduate of Whitewater High School who will enroll at UW-Whitewater.  The recipient shall have the highest grade point average of those Whitewater High School seniors who will be enrolling at UW-Whitewater.  In addition, the recipient will have been a member of the WHS National Honor Society. The recipient must maintain a 3.0 GPA to continue to receive payments after the freshman year.  Payments will be automatically credited to your UW-Whitewater account in equal payments at the beginning of each semester.  Students do not apply for this scholarship.

JIM CRUMMEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP WHITEWATER COMMUNITY FOUNDATION 

This $1,000 scholarship is made possible by the family, former players, and friends of Coach Jim Crummey.  Jim was the head football coach at Whitewater High School for twenty-nine years, from 1943 to 1973.  He established a winning tradition at WHS with a career record of 183 wins, 62 losses, 9 ties, and 11 conference championships.  Jim was a master coach, a mentor, an exemplar, but most of all, a true friend to his students and players.  The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage and reward excellence.  The award will be given to an athlete in any sport who achieved substantial individual growth in that sport through intentional hard work.  Additionally, this athlete displays, supports, and promotes the qualities necessary to be a team player

 

Financial administration of the scholarship shall be vested with the Whitewater Community Foundation via the First Citizens State Bank.  Selection will be made by the Whitewater High School coaching staff.  Payment will be made upon proof of full-time enrollment for the fall semester.  Should the recipient not enroll for the fall semester, the committee may select an alternate to receive the award.

 

Any alteration in the award specifications shall be approved by a member of the Crummey family, a representative of the coaching department, and a representative of the Whitewater Community Foundation.

MALCOLM C. DAVISON MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP 

Mac Davison taught music in the Whitewater Unified School District for 33 years.  The $250 scholarship in memory of him will go to a deserving music student who has demonstrated good scholarship and has been a good representative of the community.  Selection is made by the Whitewater High School Music Department.  Payment will be made upon certification of enrollment at any post-secondary institution.

FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS OF AMERICA (FBLA) 

The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter at Whitewater High School offers a scholarship to members who will be attending a post-secondary institution.  This scholarship awards $50 for every year they have been an active member of the FBLA organization, with a minimum of two years.  The scholarship recipient must enroll in a postsecondary institution within two years of graduation.  No application is required for this scholarship.

TIMSHEL SCHOLARSHIP

The $300 Timshel Scholarship is awarded to a graduating Whitewater High School senior who has participated in sports for twelve seasons (three sports per year for four years) and who has maintained a cumulative 3.9 GPA.  The recipient will receive the award on Scholarship Night.

WHITEWATER HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIP

NOT OFFERED IN 2024 

The Whitewater High School Student Council provides one $250 scholarship.  To qualify for this scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria:

 

1.  The student must currently be or have been a member in good standing of the Student Council

2.  The student must have attended meetings regularly.

3.  The student must demonstrate leadership, character and service.

4.  The student must have been an active participant in Student Council activities.

 

Based on the above criteria, the Student Council advisor will select the recipient.  


WHITEWATER HIGH SCHOOL TECHNOLOGY & ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship awards students who display outstanding effort in Technology and Engineering courses.  The monetary amount of this scholarship changes each year based on funds available.  The WHS Technology & Engineering Department will select the recipient.    



WISCONSIN ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP

The Higher Education Aids Board of Wisconsin awards $9,000 Academic Excellence Scholarships to two seniors at Whitewater High School who have the highest grade point averages in their graduating class.  If more than two students share the highest GPA, students with the highest ACT & AP scores are selected.   If a recipient does not attend a college or university in Wisconsin, an alternate will become eligible to receive the scholarship. Whitewater High School will use the unweighted grading system to select winners from the Class of 2024 and 2025.
