Instructions - How to Apply - Five Steps
Step One
Read the scholarship descriptions carefully to determine which scholarships you are eligible to apply for.
Use the WHS Scholarship Worksheet to keep track of the scholarships you will apply for.

Step Two
Complete the WHS Common Scholarship Application LINK HERE

Step Three
Apply for Scholarships in Section I.
Complete the Section I: Scholarship Application Checklist Form: Click Here
The WHS Faculty Scholarship Committee will select all of the recipients for the scholarships listed in Section I.
Completing the Section I Scholarship Application Checklist Form above will let the Faculty Scholarship Committee know which scholarships you wish to apply for. The Faculty Committee will only consider applicants
who have completed this form.
Email ONE electronic PDF of the WHS Common Scholarship Application
with a copy of your resume (2-page maximum) to dmillard@wwusd.org by 3:30 pm on March 21, 2024,
to apply for scholarships in section 1.

Save the PDF as "Last Name, First Name, Faculty Committee."
The name of the scholarship at the top of the application should say,
"Faculty Committee." Late applications will not be accepted.

Step Four
Apply for Scholarships in Section 2.
The recipients of scholarships listed in Section II will be chosen by individual organizations
who want to read a PRINTED copy of the WHS Common Application.
PRINT OUT ONE application for EACH scholarship in Section II that you want to apply for.
Include a copy of your resume (2-page maximum). Print back to back to save paper.
Put the name of the scholarship at the top of each application before printing.
Include any additional information or documents requested and staple them together neatly.
Turn in all printed application materials to Mrs. Millard in Student Services by 3:30 pm on March 21, 2024.
Late applications will not be accepted.

Step Five
Apply for Scholarships in Section 3.
Section III scholarship recipients will be chosen by individual organizations who want to
read an electronic copy of the WHS Common Application.
Email an electronic PDF copy of your application TO EACH ORGANIZATION LISTED
in the scholarship description by the deadline.
A few sponsors may want you to complete their special application which can be found
through a link in the scholarship description.
Put the name of the scholarship at the top of each application before mailing.
Save as "Last Name, First Name, Scholarship Name."
Follow special instructions and include any additional information or documents requested.
Late applications will not be accepted.

Section 4 Scholarships
Recipients of scholarships listed in section 4 will be chosen by individual organizations.
Students do not apply for these awards.

Tips for Writing Quality Scholarship Applications
Follow Instructions.
Understanding the criteria for selection.
Provide well-written & meaningful responses.
Answer the questions accurately & honestly.
Be interesting & concise.
Check & double-check grammar & spelling.
Have someone proofread your application before submitting it.
Typed applications are always preferred - unless otherwise noted in the instructions.
For Scholarships that require a Letter of Recommendation, provide your letter writer with information to assist them. Make a copy of this form, complete it and share it / print it for the letter writer: FORM FOR LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
