About

The 2021 Elementary School Virtual Science & Engineering Fair is being hosted in collaboration with the Science, Math, and Technology Education Program (SMATE) at Western Washington University. This is an exciting opportunity for students to pursue answers to questions and solutions to problems that interest them!

  • Participation in the fair is voluntary, and students have the option of completing one of four different types of projects. Students may collaborate on projects in partners, teams, or as an entire class!

  • When you register your student, you will have an opportunity to sign up for an optional 6-week online mentoring program hosted by future elementary teachers from WWU. We guarantee a spot for all students who register by Jan 28, and will try to accomodate any who register through January 31, space permitting.

  • Registered participants can receive a weekly eNewsletter with resources and tips to guide your student through choosing a topic and completing a project. We will also be offering online help sessions leading up to the Fair (see Parent & Family Resources for upcoming sessions).
