As of 9 / 22 / 24, we have started researching and understanding the plant towers as a whole.
We've connected more with our advisor, Mr. Kress, and finding our issues to focus on globally & locally.
Near the beginning we were struggling, we hadn't known if we were even doing this right at all.
That was until we started to see our seeds slowly start to grow.
However we did take notice that both plants towers were growing at different rates. At one point one seemed to look as if it wasn't growing, or stunted.
<< Without Sun With Sun >>
We later realized the light from the sun is making the biggest impact on these plants. They need more than the artificial light we can provide them.
December 13th. 2024, being the last photo(s) of the first plant growth.
We hadn't been taking the best approach to taking care of the towers, as we hadn't been watering them normally or adding chemicals. We were overall neglecting these towers. When we realized we were the problem we tried to own up to it and take more notice and care of the towers, but it seemed like we were to late as they appeared stunted.
This is when Mrs. Husky Contacted us.
>> Right before winter break <<
December 17th. 2024 was when Mrs. Husky contacted us. She noticed how lost we were becoming and thought of how she could help us out as well as a fun project for her class. This is what helped spark the second half of our capstone.
January 29th.
On January 29th, 2025, the class placed their plants in the plant towers; we watched them slowly grow over the month. We regularly filled the towers with water and minerals to support their growth. To make things easier, we also added labels on the towers to identify which plants were which, which was very helpful.
On January 29th, 2025, we began to see significant growth in our plant towers, marking an exciting milestone in our project. The sprouts became more noticeable, and it was rewarding to watch our hard work start to pay off. Seeing the plants thrive after weeks of care and dedication filled us with a sense of accomplishment and anticipation for what was to come.
