A Westwood design competition!
Students will take on a real-world problem, work together to create innovative solutions, and showcase their ideas in an event open to families, teachers, and the community.

Design Challenges
Backpack Fix: Create a smarter, lighter, and more organized backpack or system for students.
The Wildlife Dilemma: Design a solution that helps Westwood protect local wildlife (like the killdeer!) while keeping people safe and spaces usable.
Who Can Participate
Students in grades 6-8
Teams of 1–5 students
Students may enter one design per challenge (you can do both if you want!)
Awards & Recognition
Projects will be judged on creativity, design process, prototype quality, presentation, and impact.
Awards will be given in a variety of categories.
