ESL Summer Program
This summer, once again we will be running a free program for all the district’s ESL students who are entering 1st through 5th Grade. The ESL Summer School classes offer extended oral and written language instruction in English. Activities will address the basic academic skills of reading, writing and math. Most importantly, students will have the opportunity to receive extended access and exposure to the English language.
The registration requirements to enroll your son/daughter into the ESL Summer School program are as follows:
Your child must be currently receiving ESL class instruction during this current academic school year.
Your child must currently attend a WWRSD elementary school; entering 1st through 5th grade.
The program will be at Westwood Regional Middle School in Westwood and will run from July 5-29 in person. The hours of the program are from 8:30 am-12:30 pm. It is important to note that daily attendance is strongly encouraged.
The program is FREE for the district’s ESL students; however, you are responsible for providing your own transportation to the school. An invitation letter will be sent to you by your child's ESL teacher in the spring.

Este verano, nuevamente estaremos ofreciendo un programa gratis para todos los alumnos de ESL en nuestro distrito escolar que empezaran del grado 1 al grado 5. La escuela de ESL en el verano ofrece extender su enseñanza oral y escrita en Inglés. Las actividades enfocan los conocimientos académicos básicos de lectura, escritura y matemáticas. Lo más importante es que los alumnos tendrán la oportunidad de exponerse al lenguaje Inglés.
Los requisitos para inscribir a su hijo/hija en la escuela de ESL en el verano son los siguientes:
1.- Su hijo/hija debe estar recibiendo clases de ESL en este año escolar
2.- Su hijo/hija debe estar atendiendo WWRSD escuelas primarias; entrando grado 1 al grado 5.
El programa será en el Westwood Regional Middle School en Westwood desde el 5 de julio hasta el 29 de julio de 2022. Las clases serán en persona. Las horas del programa serán desde 8:30am – 12:30pm. Es importante notar que la asistencia diaria es recomendada.
Este programa es GRATIS para los alumnos de ESL en nuestro distrito; sin embargo, usted es responsable de proveer su propia transportación a la escuela. El maestro de ESL de su hijo le enviará una carta de invitación en la primavera.
