Drawing I
Students will explore various mediums from charcoal to colored pencils, with a focus on techniques essential to drawing. Emphasis is placed on developing good sketchbook techniques and working from observation. Subject matter will include still life arrangements, figure drawing, and portraiture. Students will also explore illustration.
Drawing II
Students continue to build their drawing techniques and advance to more challenging projects. Emphasis is placed on drawing from observation with a strong focus on composition, the human figure, and portraiture. Students will be encouraged to pursue their own artistic vision and creative process through the exploration of various mediums.

Supplies
Please PURCHASE
Sketchbook (Prefered size 8" X 10" or 8.5" X 11") - Spiral or hardcover (NO SKETCH PADS). Mixed-media or drawing paper recommended. Paper weight should be 70 lb - 100 lb. Partially used sketchbooks from previous classes are fine! If you are in Drawing and Painting, please purchase 1 mixed-media sketchbook.
3 different BLACK Micron pens - Microns are permanent and come in various thicknesses and colors. If you have a heavy hand and press hard, stick to 03-08. If you like a very fine line, get 005-02. The BR is a brush tip and works like a paint brush.
PROVIDED
You will receive a set of 24 prismacolor pencils, a colorless blender, white gel pen, a drawing pencils, a brush pen, sharpies, a pencil sharpener, and erasers to borrow for the year. You MUST take care of them and return all supplies at the end of the year. Supplies should be used, but not missing!! You are responsible for the supplies and will have to replace anything that is missing or damages.
