Google Classroom is a virtual classroom that allows teachers to post announcements, assignments, resources and more for students to access outside of the physical classroom. Please view our Google Classroom: Basics for Student Use Guide for more detailed information. Only district accounts are able to join Google Classrooms.

There are two ways to join a Google Classroom - be invited or enter a class code.
Open Google Classroom (click on the Waffle and choose the Classroom icon) or open the Classroom app (mobile device/tablet.) Make sure you are signed in with your district account.
You will be on the Classes page. (This is where you will go to choose which class you are using.)
Join by invitation: There will be a tile with the class name that has a Join button. (Click to join the class)
Join by class code: Your teacher may have sent home a "class code" of random letters/numbers. Click the + in the upper right and choose "Join Class". Type the code in exactly to join the class.
If you cannot join for some reason, please make sure you are using your district account and if using a code, it has been entered in correctly.
Please note: if you are using a mobile device or tablet, you may need to download the Google Classroom app, as well as any other Google apps needed to edit or view different Google file types. It may be possible to open everything through your browser but as every device is different, not all files may be compatible without the specific app.
When you are in a Google Classroom there are two places to look: the Stream and the Classwork pages.
The Stream: This is where notifications will be posted by your teacher. It will show any announcements made by your teacher(s), and may show when your teacher(s) post an assignment. Most of the time, the newest posts will be at the top.
Classwork page: This is where your teacher will post your assignments. They can also post resources (such as helpful links) here. Click on an assignment to view the directions. If you need to turn in or do something, an assignment will say "Assigned" or "Due on ____" in the upper right of the assignment tile.

Open your Classroom assignment you need to complete. (Classwork page -> View assignment is on the bottom of the assignment tile.)
The instructions and materials needed for the assignment will be on the left. (Read these and follow the teacher directions.)
Your work will be on the right in the "Your Work" box.
Check to make sure the teacher hasn't added something here (such as a Doc or worksheet.) If they did, you can click on that to begin working.
Recommended: If you haven't started working on the assignment (and are going to use a Google app like Docs or Slides) click the "Create" button. This will attach your work to the assignment so it can't be misplaced later.
If you need to add a file, you can click the "+Add" button to add a file to the assignment.
When you are done, click "Submit work" to turn it in to your teacher.
If you need help, you can also message your teacher using the private comments spot under your work. Only your teacher(s) will see these comments.

Yes! You can go to the assignment and if you have submitted work you can "unsubmit" the work. (It's the same button; it changes from submit work to unsubmit work after you have turned in something.)
Things to know:
ALWAYS remember to "Turn in" your work once you have made your corrections (unless directed by your teacher.)
If you unsubmit your work, your teacher will know (it changes the completed status for them.)
If there is a due date, and you unsubmit your work then resubmit it - it could be marked "late" in Google Classroom.
Contact your teacher for more information
When contacting either help source, please be prepared to give your student's name, school, teacher name and device type that the student is using (student ID, student email, and password may be helpful to know to expedite assistance.)
