Accessing & Previewing the Resources Below:
The first part of this screencast explains how to navigate to this page, but the majority of it consists of me sharing some of my favorite features of the resources below. Feel free to watch it or just check out the resources on your own!
FOR YOUNGER STUDENTS: Are you helping with your younger siblings or neighbors? Check out these elementary-aged resources:
PebbleGo (K-3 students) - Animals and social studies sections of this early literacy tool are available here! Watch videos, read (or have the text read to you), and complete activities. (from MeL.org)
Britannica School - Actually this encyclopedic source can be modified to suit elementary, middle, or high school students. Learn something new! (from MeL.org)
FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS:
Michigan Virtual is offering FREE online class content to all Michigan students during this shut-down. (This is not an online course where you will submit assignments to an instructor, but you will be given access to lessons and other materials to keep your brain active. Register for FREE, and choose what you'd most like to learn!)
Worried about prepping for the SAT (or your AP tests)? Sign up for a free account with the LearningExpress Library through the Michigan e-Library and you can take free practice tests. LearningExpress Library also has a scholarship finder, resume builder, and much more.
GENERAL RESOURCES:
Michigan e-Library has a wealth of resources. Too many to be listed here. Go to MeL.org and click on "eResources" at the top of the page for a complete list.
With libraries closed, you may want to check out some eBooks. There are a number of eBook collections available at MeL. Try these: eBook High School Collection, eBook K-8 Collection, eBook Public Library Collection, and the Poetry & Short Story Reference Collection.
Do you want to do some crafting while you're stuck inside? Find ideas, patterns, and how-tos at the Hobbies & Crafts Reference Center.
