As such, the WMHS library seeks to be an information center, not only for its students, but also for our broader community of teachers and parents. You'll find here a collection of resources that we hope are beneficial in helping teachers and parents in guiding our students.
If you are a student visiting this page in hopes of finding some deep, dark adult secrets (or the answers to your next test), I'm afraid you'll be disappointed. However, some of the resources linked here may be beneficial to you too, and you are more than welcome to check them out.
Dave Stuart - Dave Stuart is a Michigan teacher who writes about teaching and how to encourage the long-term flourishing of students. He writes realistically about the issues that teachers face in seeking the best for our students while trying to balance life outside of school and personal well-being. You can sign up to receive weekly blog posts to your email, or you can just check out his blog archives.
WeAreTeachers - This website has classroom ideas, articles on teacher well-being, and sometimes just humorous content to which only a teacher can truly relate. (Note: This site is geared for K-12 teachers. Some resources, ideas, and topics may be more applicable to elementary or middle school.)
Josh Ochs / SmartSocial.com - Josh Ochs travels the country speaking to parents, teachers, and students about technology-related issues with a specific focus on social media. He has podcasts about the dangerous aspects of specific apps and social media sites, as well as content related to ways to help your child "shine online" and use the positive aspects of social media to earn scholarships or jobs. (Note: Since this is his business, you will see advertisements for his Parent University and other resources that cost money. However, you can listen to podcasts for free!)
