For almost 4 years of taking this course, I have learned many things about this profession which I believe can help me become an effective and great teacher for my future students. My beliefs on teaching and learning consist of first, we all know that in a classroom every student is unique and different in their own way, and through the proper guidance of a teacher or facilitator these students can learn and be inspired to do their part in their learning. Secondly, I believe that today, it is a crucial part of learning if there is collaboration between student and their classmates and at the same time do independent work which they can experience to work on their own and take charge of their own learning. Third, I strongly believe that learning occurs successfully when the classroom is welcoming, safe, and positive for every student in a way that students are required to abide by the rules for their safety and their physical well-being. Fourth, I think that a good relationship between the teacher and the students will improve the students' learning. For this reason, a teacher who truly understands each student will be able to utilize appropriate instructional techniques or provide students with better examples.
While some of my beliefs on teaching are first, I believe that a teacher should have mastery of the lesson he/she is going to teach. Because you as a teacher can't teach or impart knowledge if you don't know the content of your lesson. Secondly, in today's world where technology is becoming more part of the classroom, teachers must be flexible and adaptable to the changes that happen and of course to the distinct needs of students. Third, I believe that teachers should be passionate about what they're teaching because this is one way to motivate students, elevate their interest, and help them achieve their dreams of choosing the right path.
All in all, I know that all of my beliefs in teaching and learning will guide me, help me in my teaching journey, and prepare me to face the realities of teaching.
