Student Success

Former Wigan UTC student Lauren Rudd has passed her Level 2 Mechanical Engineering with flying colours and will be progressing onto the Level 3 in General Engineering.

Whilst on her Level 2 course, Lauren has developed a wide range of skills including handfitting, stripping motors and electrical maintenance. She says “The best aspect of studying at the college is that I have gained more skills and knowledge. The PEO course was extremely interesting as there was a lot of practical work and theory involved.” Lauren has always felt supported and motivated by her tutor Jade Wilkinson, saying “Jade is very dedicated to pushing you to be the best that you can be."

Lauren is very proud to be a female in Engineering and describes choosing to study Engineering as the best decision she’s ever made. Lauren’s ambition is to work in an international manufacturing company, and she is determined to make this dream a reality.
